Improvement through dressage for all breeds
Kimmy is the best!
My daughter took lessons with Kimmy from age 8-13 and would still be there if we hadn’t moved out of state. I didn’t know a thing about horses but could tell that my daughter loved them. She found her match in Kimmy! She is an incredible mentor both on and off the horse. She taught her all about the hard work and lifestyle that goes into owning horses, how to care for them in good times and in bad, how to care for tack and for the barn. Kimmy has high standards. Her qualifications are hard earned and gained from a lifetime of experience around equitation. Her expectations have helped shape my daughter into a youth who will give her best and keep trying when hitting a roadblock. I am immensely grateful for her help in teaching perseverance and grit. In riding terms, the results speak for themselves: my daughter was able to seamlessly integrate a high profile dressage barn in Las Vegas whose owner has been invited to teach for an Olympic trainer.
Now you know why Kimmy is the best :)

Kimmy is wonderful with horses and people alike. I have been riding with Kimmy for about nine years now. She has excellent communication skills, patience and teaching ability. She takes the time to understand each student individually, as I am an older rider, her patience and thoughtfulness has helped me gain the confidence I needed. She is organized, motivated and reliable. She also has the education to back up her teaching. Kimmy is very goal oriented and continues to further her own skills and training, which is the sign of an excellent teacher. Every student starts by learning the basic fundamentals about how to properly care for tack and how to properly care for the horse. Kimmy is a kind and patient teacher and is excellent with children and adults alike. I believe you could search the world over and not find a finer instructor than Kimmy, be it for yourself or your horse.

I began riding lessons with Kimmy Weise approximately 4 years ago when I was 36 years old. Shortly after I began, my daughter also started lessons at age 5 1/2. My experience with horses was very limited when I started my lessons. I had limited trail riding experience with friends, but no real care, safety, correct position training or the multitude of other information and knowledge Kimmy has provided.
I am happy to report that I am now fulfilling the childhood dream of owning two horses, my child is excelling in Pony Club and we have both continued our lessons with Kimmy every week with no lapse. We have spent much time on Kimmy's well trained horses and now bring our own up for lessons.
Kimmy has provided me with excellent information on nutrition, tack fit, appropriate riding gear including helmets, clothing, boots, proper exercise and conditioning for our horses and so much more. This is all in addition to the dressage-based riding we have both gained.
My daughter and I both began on the lunge line learning to sit the trot , use sit bones, post and more. we have progressed through several skills and continue to work on those each week, including but not limited to: posting on the correct diagonal, correct transition cues from whoa, walk, trot and canter. Using our bodies through sit bones, proper positioning, eyes up and focused on the next location, riding from encouraging our horses through leg cues into our hands and consistent contact through a straight line from the bit to our hands. We are learning to encourage our horses into correct frame and and work on our basic skills so that we can execute more advanced movements. The progress has been amazing!
So many lessons have been learned. My daughter attended her first Pony Club rally about a month ago and scored a 67%, a 64% and a 55%. We were thrilled, and we owe Kimmy for her preparation prior to the rally. That was her first show of any kind and it was an enormous crowd. She handled it very well and is only eight years old. I am also moving from a trail riding fan to really wanting to compete in dressage. I hope to attend my first schooling show in August.
Kimmy uses language that is easily understood by all ages. She is an amazing rider herself and has the ability to communicate what she knows to those of us who know very little. We continue to learn and improve every week. My daughter and I are going to continue to be dedicated students of Kimmy for a long time to come. I have recommended her to several people I know who have an interest in riding; whether they are new to riding or need to refine their skills for more advanced work.
She is a skilled instructor and we are lucky to have found her out where we live.
Sincerely,
Linda Schier
